New Orleans Saints RB depth chart ahead of 2022 NFL Draft
RB1: Alvin Kamara
While there’s a chance he could face a suspension to start the year, Alvin Kamara is undoubtedly the No. 1 running back for the New Orleans Saints.
A third-round pick out of Tennessee in the 2017 NFL Draft, Kamara made a positive impact for the Saints as soon as he got to the organization. He won the 2017 Offensive Rookie of the Year award after totaling 1,554 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns.
Kamara only improved from there, tallying 1,592 scrimmage yards and 18 total touchdowns during his sophomore season in 2018. He had a “down year” in 2019 due to missing a few games but still finished with a respectable 1,330 yards from scrimmage with five total touchdowns.
The former Tennessee product bounced back in a major way the following year, however, putting together his most impressive season yet. He racked up 1,688 yards from scrimmage and found the end zone an astounding 21 times.
This past year, Kamara missed four games due to injury but put up solid numbers (1,337 total yards with nine total touchdowns).
If Kamara is able to take the field, he’s the starting running back for the New Orleans Saints and that’s not even up for debate.
