It’s been a slow Saints free agency so far but the New Orleans Saints still have time to add some players at a position of need. Running back is a position they need some help at, especially if Alvin Kamara ends up getting suspended for a chunk of time.

Fortunately for NOLA, there are plenty of solid running backs still on the free-agent market that could be had for an affordable price. Let’s dive into six high-impact running backs who could make a lot of sense for the Saints this season.

6. Sony Michel

Former first-round pick Sony Michel has had an up-and-down career but he presents an intriguing option for the Saints. Michel spent the first three years of his career with the Patriots and topped 900 yards rushing in his first two seasons.

Year three saw Michel struggle to stay healthy and he ended up playing for the Rams this past season. He’s been in the league for only four years and already has two Super Bowl titles with two different teams.

While a Super Bowl probably isn’t on the table for Michel if he signs with the Saints, he’d have a shot to be a big part of their offense. He had over 800 yards rushing last year and also found the end zone four times. Spotrac has his projected market value at two years worth over $10 million.
