5. Scott Fujita (Signed in 2006)

That 2006 season was obviously a pretty special one in New Orleans and the offseason helped pave the way for that special season. Scott Fujita was another key free-agent brought into the building in 2006 and went on to have quite the career in the Big Easy.

Fujita was a fifth-round pick by the Chiefs in the 2002 NFL Draft and was a steal for them during his three years there, appearing in all 16 games in each of his three seasons there. KC traded Fujita to Dallas after they took Derrick Johnson in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft and he became a free agent the next offseason.

New Orleans signed Fujita and he went on to spend four years there, winning a Super Bowl with the team in the 2009 season. He finished his Saints career with 330 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and four interceptions in 56 games.

While Fujita ended his NFL career as a member of the Browns, most people probably remember him for what he did during his time with the Saints. He was an excellent free-agent signing by Payton.
