3. Champ Bailey

After 14 impressive seasons, it was clear that Champ Bailey wasn’t the same guy in the final year of his decade-long tenure with the Broncos. Be that as it may, the Saints signed him to a two-year deal following the 2013 season and lived to regret it.

Bailey struggled during the preseason for New Orleans and failed to even make the final roster. It was disappointing for sure but at that point in his career, Bailey was 36 years old and fans knew it probably wouldn’t be a game-changing move.

After not making the NOLA roster, Bailey announced his retirement from the NFL. In 2019, he made it into the Hall of Fame.

So while the Champ Bailey signing did not turn out well for the Saints, the Georgia product was still one of the best cornerbacks the league had ever seen. By the time he got to New Orleans, he wasn’t anywhere close to the same player anymore and we saw that play out in front of our eyes.
