2. Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas is coming back this year and Saints fans are thrilled about that. He didn’t take the field at all in 2021 due to injury (and some drama) but it appears that he’ll be available in 2022, assuming he’s not one of the players sent to Houston.

The last time we saw Thomas in action was in 2020 but he wasn’t the same guy that year. He only appeared in seven regular-season games and missed the rest of the time due to injury.

The previous year, however, Thomas was the best wide receiver in the league and won the Offensive Player of the Year award as a result. He finished that season with 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns off of a whopping 149 receptions. The dude was unstoppable.

While Thomas might never be that dominant again, Deshaun Watson as his quarterback offers him the best opportunity to try and replicate that season. Thomas is still only 29 years old so he’s not washed up by any means.

We’ve seen how good Thomas can be when he has a good quarterback throwing to him, so if Watson is the one tossing him the pigskin, there’s a chance that Thomas can revive his career. Maybe he’d even be Comeback Player of the Year material.
