3 potential trade packages the Saints could make for Deshaun Watson
In this potential trade package, the Saints only have to part with three first-round picks and their Pro Bowl right tackle, Ryan Ramczyk. They don’t have to surrender a second-rounder but they wouldn’t have a first-round pick until 2025 and could potentially lose both of their starting tackles.
In this idea, the Texans would get one of the best right tackles in the league to help protect Davis Mills and they’d have three extra first-round picks to help build around the young Stanford product. It’d be a great haul for them.
The only good thing about losing Ramczyk would be that the Saints would free up a lot of cap space, which they’d end up spending on Watson. Ramczyk signed a five-year $96 million contract last offseason and next year whichever team he’s playing for will take a $21.4 million cap hit.
Losing Ramczyk would be unfortunate and the Saints’ offensive line would no longer be considered one of the best in the league. One would think that if Watson wanted to come to New Orleans that he’d insist on Ramczyk not being part of the deal but it’s not up to him to decide.
