4 players the NOLA Saints might have to trade to land Deshaun Watson
1. Ryan Ramczyk
The most likely Saint to be on the move if New Orleans is able to strike a deal with Houston for Deshaun Watson is right tackle Ryan Ramczyk. NOLA spent a first-round pick on Ramczyk in the 2017 NFL Draft and he signed an extension last offseason worth $96 million over five years.
Ramczyk struggled with injuries last season, missing seven games but when he was on the field, he was as good as they come. That was the only time in his career where he struggled with injuries, as he didn’t miss a single game between 2018 and 2020.
If the Texans want to rebuild and give Mills the best possible roster, getting one of the best right tackles in the league to protect him would be the smartest move they could make. Ramczyk is one of the best — if not THE best — players on the Saints’ roster and that’s why he’s nearly a guarantee to be included in this trade if a deal gets agreed upon.
The NOLA Saints need a quarterback but it’s going to take a lot to successfully trade for Deshaun Watson. They’ll have to part ways with at least one guy on this list and at least three first-round picks as well. That’d make it hard to build around Watson if the talented players in the Big Easy are no longer on the roster.
