3. Chandler Jones (EDGE)

Another EDGE appearing on the list is Chandler Jones, who had 10.5 sacks with the Cardinals last season while tallying 41 tackles and 26 QB hits. Jones’ best season was in 2019 when he finished the year with 19 sacks through 16 starts.

Jones is a crazy good pass rusher but he’s entering his age-32 season and the Saints have plenty of talented pass rushers on their roster. They don’t need to dish out boatloads of cash to Jones. Would he be fun to watch in this defense? Yes, but that doesn’t mean he’s a great fit.

2. Von Miller

Four EDGE rushers appeared on this list and the best one hitting the open market is Von Miller, who just won his second Super Bowl but with his second team. Miller spent the first decade of his career with the Broncos before being traded to the Rams and going on to win the Super Bowl with them this past season.

Miller now hits the free-agent market and is entering his age-33 season. He missed all of 2020 due to injury but otherwise has been mostly healthy throughout the course of his career.

Even with that being the case, he’s not a fit for the Saints.
