5. Marcus Williams (Safety)

The first familiar face on this list is Marcus Williams, who has spent the first half-decade of his career in New Orleans after the Saints took him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Williams was franchise tagged this time last year and now he should be the highest-paid safety in the league when it’s all said and done.

Williams turns 26 in September so he’s still a young player and is playing at the top of his game. Some Saints fans criticize him for his lack of tackling but Williams has consistently played well during the course of his career.

Of course Williams is a fit for NOLA and they’ve reportedly said they’re wanting to sign him to a long-term deal. It will be a costly deal if it does indeed get done, though.

4. J.C. Jackson (Cornerback)

The best cornerback in free agency is J.C. Jackson, who somehow went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. He then went on to play incredibly well with the Patriots and now he’s going to be rewarded for his performance.

Jackson is 26 years old and will turn 27 in November, so he’s young and entering the prime of his career. There’s no doubt that the Saints could use a cornerback like Jackson to pair with Paulson Adebo and Marshon Lattimore but there’s no way in hell that New Orleans will be able to afford him.
