3. James White

Until we know what’s going to happen with the Alvin Kamara situation, the Saints need to look into adding help at running back. James White could be a nice option for them in free agency because of what he could provide their offense and how relatively cheap he’d be on the market. PFF projects him to earn a one-year deal worth a little over $1 million.

White is most known for scoring the game-winning touchdown in overtime of Super Bowl LI to give the Patriots yet another championship. It happened against the Falcons, so at least there was that.

White is at his best when he can get involved as a pass-catcher and that wouldn’t be too hard for the Saints to make happen considering how much of a threat Kamara is in that department. Last season was the first time where White was really knicked up too much, as he only appeared in three games so that hip injury is definitely something to monitor.

2. K.J. Wright

I was pounding the drum for K.J. Wright last year and he’s on the free-agent market once again. Wright ended up signing with the Raiders last offseason and it worked out for NOLA, as they signed Kwon Alexander not long after.

Wright is an asset due to his durability, as he hasn’t missed a game over the past three years. He appeared in all 17 for the Raiders last year and made eight starts and made 51 tackles during that time.

Wright isn’t the same player he used to be, but for $2.5 million and a one-year deal, he’s absolutely worth any kind of risk that might be attached to his name.
