5. Anthony Walker

The Saints could lose Kwon Alexander to free agency and if they do, they need to add a linebacker who can help out Demario Davis and Pete Werner. Anthony Walker is someone the team should consider signing.

PFF projects Walker will receive a two-year deal worth $8 million, earning $4 million annually and $5.25 million guaranteed. He’s a versatile linebacker and would be a very similar player to that of Alexander. He’s great in coverage but isn’t a good run-stopper.

Still, for just $4 million a year, Walker is someone who could be of interest to the Saints.

4. Keelan Cole

New Orleans needs wide receivers and Keelan Cole is a bargain free agent they could target. PFF projects that Cole will sign a two-year deal worth $12 million earning $6 million annually and $8.25 million guaranteed.

The Saints get Michael Thomas this season and hopefully will draft a receiver in the early rounds but Cole provides a reliable WR3/4 for an offense. If the team doesn’t bring back Tre’Quan Smith, Cole is someone who could make a lot of sense in their offense.

Last season, Cole totaled 28 catches for 449 yards and a touchdown with the Jets. The year before when he was with Jacksonville, he tallied 55 receptions for 642 yards and five touchdowns while catching passes from the plethora of quarterbacks the Jags had in 2020.

There’s talent there with Cole and if the Saints found the right quarterback, he could be an underrated weapon for this team.
