The New Orleans Saints have some more work to do to get back over the cap so let’s take a look at some bargain free agents they could be interested in for the 2022 season.

Free agency is a fun time for teams who aren’t in cap hell. For the Saints, they’ll get themselves in a better position to sign a few names but they won’t be contenders for any of the big-name free agents due to their lack of funds at the moment.

New Orleans can still find some bargain names in free agency to add to their team and make them stronger this year. Let’s take a look at eight bargain free agents for the black and gold in 2022.

8. Austin Reiter

Center isn’t a huge need for New Orleans considering Erik McCoy is one of the best in the biz at his position but McCoy did go down for a few games this past season and the offensive line struggled as a result. Cesar Ruiz isn’t capable of playing well at center or at right guard.

That’s where a guy like Austin Reiter could do wonders. Reiter is most known for the three years he spent with the Chiefs and he actually did spend some time with the Saints last year before the Dolphins plucked him off the NOLA practice squad.

PFF projects Reiter to earn a one-year deal worth a little over $1 million. If the Saints want to add offensive line depth in free agency, Austin Reiter is a name to look into.
