1. Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston spent the past two years on the Saints’ roster. In 2020, he backed up Drew Brees and only appeared in a few games. When Brees was injured, Taysom Hill started in his absence despite Winston being perfectly healthy and good to go.

Winston re-signed last offseason and won the starting job over Hill. He started seven games before getting injured and then going on to miss the rest of the year.

It’d be fantastic if NOLA could find a way to get Winston back in the black and gold for a third straight season and perhaps they could make more of an effort to build around him this time. Who knows if Winston will be the same player recovering from his surgery but he’s the best option available for the Saints at this point in time.

Of all of the former Saints out there on the free-agent market, Jameis Winston presents the most likely name to return.
