If the Saints are able to re-sign Jameis Winston, that’ll open things up for them in the first two rounds of the draft. They might be able to land Bernhard Raimann in the second round or even the third round and that’d be the best-case scenario here.

Raimann is from Austria and attended Central Michigan to play tight end before transitioning to the offensive line. The Draft Network says his ideal role in the NFL is as a starting left tackle and that’s exactly what New Orleans is looking for this offseason.

Raimann, who weighs in at 305 pounds and is 6’7″, could be someone who takes a bit of time to get adjusted to blocking NFL defenders, especially when you consider that he’s played in the MAC in college. Even with that being the case, the upside is too good to pass up on.

If NOLA is able to snag Raimann in the third round, maybe they’d have yet another “smaller school” prospect from round three that goes on to be their starting left tackle for nearly a decade. You never know.
