2. Trevor Siemian

No one really thought that Trevor Siemian would end up making the Saints’ 53-man roster a season ago but it made sense as to why he did. Jameis Winston was the starter, Taysom Hill served in his offensive weapon role, and Ian Book was a rookie, who wasn’t ready to be a backup yet. That’s where Siemian came into play.

When Winston went down in Week 8, Siemian stepped in as the starter and helped get NOLA that W. After that, the team went 0-5 and while Siemian wasn’t a superstar, the losses weren’t entirely his fault.

When Hill was healthy enough to play, he took over as the starter and Siemian only saw minimal action after the fact. Siemian is the definition of a backup quarterback and that’s not what New Orleans needs in 2022, as they have plenty of those on their roster already.

Siemian could serve as an excellent backup with another team and hopefully, that’s what happens. He’s someone who fans won’t be sad to see go this spring.
