The New Orleans Saints have 11 total players set to become unrestricted free agents. Most of those guys are players that the team would love to have back but there are a few that if they left, fans wouldn’t be all that sad.

Let’s take a look at three Saints free agents who if they signed elsewhere, we wouldn’t miss them.

3. Jalyn Holmes

Former fourth-round pick Jalyn Holmes joined the Saints this season after three years in Minnesota. He wasn’t utilized much, appearing in eight games with one start and totaling 14 tackles and one defended pass.

Holmes missed the first half of the season and made his New Orleans debut in Week 10 where he tallied three tackles and was present for 27% of the defensive snaps, per Pro Football Reference. In Weeks 11 and 13, Holmes played in over half of the defensive snaps and spent some time on special teams as well.

No one expected Holmes to be a big name in the defense when he was brought on last summer and that’s why it wouldn’t hurt the team if he didn’t re-sign and landed elsewhere.

If the Saints did opt to bring Holmes back, he’d be a cheap defensive option to keep with the team but it’s not a move they have to make this offseason.
