The New Orleans Saints desperately need a wide receiver. Drake London should be the guy they target in the 2022 NFL Draft.

USC wide receiver Drake London is a player that has been rising up mock drafts the entire season. He was a very forgotten player his first few years behind Michael Pittman Jr. and Amon Ra St-Brown.

With those two being drafted, London was in for a big season, and boy did he deliver. With 88 receptions, 1,084 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns, he was the Trojans’ number one target.

London’s unique size with after-the-catch ability at six foot five could be a great x-factor for the Saints’ offense. He is very similar to Buccaneers wideout Mike Evans, a tall contested-catch phenom that can body almost any cornerback.

Another pro comparison is Keenan Allen of the Chargers, as he’s able to create opportunities for himself with his sharp route running. For a guy that isn’t even 21 yet, there’s still a lot of room for London to grow.

The big knack on London is that he doesn’t have great top speed. While it’s true that speed is the name of the game, there have been plenty of players who have succeeded just being a vertical threat and contested-catch phenoms.

Pairing London with Michael Thomas would make an excellent duo. Add Deonte Harris in the mix and Marquez Callaway as well and this team has some of the best potential in the league.

London would seem to make a great fit with Jameis Winston if the team re-signs him. He’s very similar to Mike Evans, and those two were teammates for five years in Tampa Bay.

Seeing the recent success of USC wide receivers in the NFL should give Saints fans an optimistic look at London. Michael Pittman Jr., Amon Ra St-Brown, and JuJu Smith Schuster were all really successful right away in the NFL.

Overall, London possesses a unique skill set that could help change this offense. With him likely being on the board at the Saints pick, the team should do their due diligence on London.
