1. New Orleans Saints
The top landing spot for Jameis Winston is the same team he’s spent the past two years with. The Saints need a quarterback and Winston needs a team, so feels like a match made in heaven, right?
While I’m growing more optimistic that Winston returns to New Orleans for a third season, nothing is guaranteed in sports. He’s one of the best free-agent quarterbacks on the market and will get more attention than he did this time last year.
If a team like the Steelers comes in and offers Winston more money, it feels like he’d take that deal over returning to the team that gave him another chance after things didn’t work out in Tampa.
Winston did all right during his seven starts this past season and that’s going to look good for teams when trying to find a quarterback. He’s proven he can start and take care of the football so teams other than the Saints will be trying to sign him this spring.
Hopefully, his familiarity with the organization and bond with teammates keeps him in New Orleans but we’ll have to wait and see.
