5 potential landing spots for Jameis Winston in free agency
2. Pittsburgh Steelers
Personally, if I had to pick where Winston would land, it’d be one of the top two teams on this list.
The Steelers lost their long-time quarterback to retirement and now are tasked with trying to replace him. There’s a lot to like about playing in Pittsburgh and it’s why I could absolutely see Winston signing there.
First and foremost, the team has a stacked defense that, when healthy, can be one of the best in the league. That might not be a huge appeal to a quarterback but it’s a nice feeling knowing they don’t have to do all of the work, something Winston had to deal with in Tampa Bay.
Second, look at all of those weapons! Winston would have Chase Claypool, Diontae Johnson, and Pat Freiermuth at his disposal, not to mention Najee Harris in the backfield. That’s a far cry from what he had in New Orleans this past season.
Third, the Steelers are a legendary franchise. They have one of the most faithful fanbases in the sport and it’s no surprise that players want to sign there and be a member of the Steelers.
I could definitely see Winston in Pittsburgh if they attempt to sign him.
