5 potential landing spots for Jameis Winston in free agency
Jameis Winston is set to become a free agent for the third straight season. Where could the New Orleans Saints quarterback end up for the 2022 season?
Jameis Winston went No. 1 overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spent five years there before signing with the New Orleans Saints in the 2020 offseason to backup Drew Brees.
After barely seeing the field in New Orleans, Winston opted to re-sign with the Saints in the 2021 offseason and won the starting job over Taysom Hill.
Winston made seven starts before he was injured and missed the rest of the season. He’ll now hit free agency for the third straight season.
Let’s take a look at five potential landing spots for the former No. 1 overall pick.
5. Indianapolis Colts
I don’t realistically see this one happening but with the Colts making it known they’re moving on from Carson Wentz, QB1 is vacant in Indianapolis and Winston could be an option there.
Indianapolis has a lot going for them. First and foremost, they have Jonathon Taylor at running back and he had a strong case to win MVP in the 2021 season. He was a big part of why that team was in the position they were in before Wentz ruined it in Week 18.
The offensive line in Indy is also top-notch. Winston wouldn’t have to worry about getting sacked if he signed with the Colts and that’s a quarterback’s dream.
I can’t really see Winston donning that Colts blue and white but they’re definitely an option here.
