The New Orleans Saints have a lot of needs in the 2022 NFL Draft and when that’s the case, why not go best available? That’s what the black and gold did in this three-round mock draft, which was simulated on Pro Football Network.

The best available can obviously defer depending on who you’re asking but these were the best players on the top of Pro Football Network’s board when the team needed to make their selection.

Let’s dive right in!

878. . Center. Hawkeyes . Tyler Linderbaum. 18. player

Round 1: Pick 18 – Tyler Linderbaum, C (Iowa)

This pick would surprise some people but New Orleans has shown that they’re not afraid to take offensive linemen at positions they already have good talent at. I, for one, would be thrilled if Tyler Linderbaum was the pick here, even if NOLA is set at center.

This selection would be a safe one for the team and they could move Erik McCoy to right guard and that, in turn, would mean Cesar Ruiz isn’t starting anymore. McCoy has experience at guard and the Saints would still have a top-notch center on their offensive line.

The o-line had a down year in 2021, mostly due to injuries, but also because Ruiz stinks. Drafting Linderbaum is a safe pick that would give NOLA a boost to their offensive line and help out whoever is quarterbacking the offense in 2022.
