The safest pick for the New Orleans Saints in the 2022 NFL Draft is safety Jacques Brisker out of Penn State.

First and foremost, this team could end up losing Marcus Williams in free agency and if they do, Brisker needs to be a strong target. Brisker could not only replace Williams but he could excel in several different areas on the Saints’ defense.

The Draft Network says that Brisker could have been the top safety in this class but with Kyle Hamilton a likely top-five pick, there went that chance. Still, NOLA would be thrilled to have this guy in the black and gold and he’d be a welcomed addition if Williams leaves.

Even if Williams does stick around, Brisker is someone who could step in and still be an impact player. Safeties aren’t the sexiest picks, especially in the first round, but with how solid this Saints defense already is, it’s hard not to see Brisker making a huge impact and filling Williams’ shoes admirably.

Safe picks aren’t always the way to go for NFL teams but if New Orleans decides to go that route, these four players could be who they target. Notice I didn’t put any quarterbacks on the list because we all know none of those prospects are safe choices.
