Saints Free Agents in 2022

  • Jeff Heath
  • Jalyn Holmes
  • Dwayne Washington

Unless you follow the team closely, these are probably some names that people don’t know.

Heath was signed last summer and appeared in 16 games. He’s set to turn 31 years old in May and isn’t anything more than a backup safety. Holmes also joined the team last offseason and appeared in eight games while making one start.

Washington is the only name here who was with the organization for more than just this past season.  He’s spent four years with the Saints and has mostly served as a special teamer during that time. He hasn’t had more than double-digit carries since he first joined the organization in 2018.

Out of all of these guys, Washington is the one I’d say is the likeliest to return. Holmes showed some potential during the preseason and is only 26 years old so he’s someone the team could re-sign on a cheap deal. Heath, however, isn’t someone I’d expect to see back unless the team is really desperate at safety.
