5. Matt Corral (Ole Miss)

If the Saints can’t land any of the other four options on this list, they’ll be forced to turn to the draft, where the choices are also pretty slim.

Kenny Pickett is likely going to be off the board by the time the Saints are picking at No. 18 and Pickett might be the only guy who is ready to start in 2022.

The second-best option in the draft at quarterback is Matt Corral of Ole Miss and he’s fairly popular amongst Saints fans. Perhaps that’s because he played college ball in Mississippi and the SEC so those who root for LSU are familiar with him, but Corral is a popular name around the Big Easy.

Corral improved mightily in 2021 and his biggest improvement was seen in limiting turnovers. I’d have liked Corral as an option more had Sean Payton still been the coach in New Orleans but I’m not sure I love this pick as much now that Allen is taking over.

Be that as it may, the Saints might find themselves in a position where they have to draft a quarterback and if that’s the case, Corral would be my pick.
