3 potential offensive coordinator options for New Orleans Saints
1. Greg Olson
No, not the former Panthers tight end who used to torment the Saints whenever they’d face him. This Greg Olson actually served as Dennis Allen’s offensive coordinator in Oakland in 2013 and 2014 so the two are already familiar with each other.
Olson had a few other stops before returning to the Raiders organization in 2018 and helped turn Derek Carr into a truly underrated quarterback. Vegas was a top-10 offense in the 2020 season and this past season, they made the playoffs and Carr proved himself as a solid signal-caller.
With the Raiders hiring Josh McDaniels, he’ll put together his own staff and that’ll make Olson expendable. Not only do Allen and Olsen have a history of working together but now Olson needs a job. Also, this could help the Saints land Carr if the Raiders do decide they want a different quarterback in the 2022 season.
Greg Olson makes so much sense for the New Orleans Saints’ next offensive coordinator. Hopefully, this is what happens and he can help get Carr to the Big Easy too.
What do you think, Saints fans? Could you see any of these gentlemen calling plays in New Orleans?
