4 quarterbacks NOLA Saints could trade for in 2022 offseason
2. Derek Carr
The “Derek Carr to New Orleans” talks have been growing louder over the past week and it’s not hard to see why. Carr’s career with the Raiders organization has been a rollercoaster, as he’s put up decent numbers but the team has yet to win a playoff game with him under center and only had a winning season twice.
What Carr did this past season for a Raiders team experiencing all sorts of turmoil was nothing short of impressive. He’s shown he can win games in the most uncertain of times and if he’s available on the trade market, teams will definitely be interested.
Shortly after the Raiders lost their Wild Card game to the Bengals, Ian Rapoport reported that Carr’s future with the organization would hinge on who was hired as the head coach. It feels pretty likely that he ends up staying in Las Vegas but New Orleans is frequently being linked to him.
Rapoport even listed the Saints as a landing spot for Carr in his initial report last weekend. He’d have one of the best head coaches in the league, an incredible defense, a stout offensive line, and a terrific rushing attack at his disposal. That’s a recipe for success for Derek Carr.
