The New Orleans Saints didn’t make the playoffs this season but they were eliminated in the final week of the regular season. As a result, they’re not going to be able to land some key players in the draft who could have taken their team to the next level and helped get them to the postseason in 2022.

Let’s take a look at these three players and how they could have helped New Orleans in the foreseeable future.

3. Evan Neal

Even if the Saints hadn’t made a run at the end of the season, they probably weren’t going to be in a spot where they could realistically land offensive tackle, Evan Neal.

Neal, who spent this past season at left tackle for Alabama, has been mocked in the top five throughout the college football season, and a big part of why is that he can play both tackle positions. The Saints have right tackle locked up for the next several years with Ryan Ramczyk but they could lose Terron Armstead in free agency.

Neal could have been a great option to replace Armstead on the left side of the line but there’s no way he drops out of the top 10 let alone to pick No. 18. If he does, New Orleans will have an absolute steal in the first round.
