3. Adam Trautman

The Saints spent a third-round pick on Adam Trautman in the 2020 NFL Draft and he hasn’t been very good. Fans let his lackluster rookie year go due to the talent ahead of Trautman on the depth chart but this season, he was supposed to be TE1 in the offense.

Trautman finished year two with 27 receptions for 263 yards and two touchdowns, improving all of his numbers from his rookie season, but not by much.

There was one game midway through the season where Trautman had a costly penalty that forced the Saints back on a key two-point attempt. New Orleans failed to get the two points necessary to win the game and Sean Payton was seen shouting at his tight end on the sideline.

Fans were pretty fed up with Trautman after that game but he’s still just two years into his NFL career. If he doesn’t show more in year three, it’d be perfectly understandable for the team to move on from him, but they probably won’t this year due to the lack of other talented tight end options out there.
