1. Trevor Siemian

I give Trevor Siemian a lot of credit. The guy had to enter two important games after the starter went out and he helped deliver a victory both times. Now, when he had to be the sole starter, things didn’t go great, but Siemian did what he needed to when stepping into games.

Siemian was initially not someone any of us saw making the final 53-man roster but NOLA kept him around so that they could continue to use Taysom Hill as an offensive weapon and let Ian Book learn on the sidelines. We saw how this ended up paying off for them as best as possible, as otherwise, it’s entirely possible that Book would have been forced to play in those other games and that’d have probably gone pretty poorly.

Siemian is slated to hit free agency and it’s doubtful New Orleans brings him back. Hopefully, they’ll re-sign Jameis Winston at the very least and have him, Hill, Book, and maybe a rookie quarterback for 2022, if not a bigger name at the position.

Siemian is a good backup quarterback but he won’t be serving that role for the Saints again in 2022.
