5. Baker Mayfield

There’s a real possibility that Baker Mayfield is not in Cleveland next season and that’s become pretty clear with how this season has gone. Not only has he not played well but if the Browns have a shot to get someone like Aaron Rodgers this offseason, Mayfield immediately becomes expendable.

New Orleans was recently linked to Mayfield as a potential landing spot and it’s not a crazy thought, to be honest. The former No. 1 overall pick has performed poorly this year but a lot of it is due to injuries. He’s shown when healthy that he can be a good quarterback.

Pairing Mayfield with a coach like Sean Payton could rejuvenate his career and the Saints have the offensive line (when healthy), the run game, and the defense to help him thrive. They’d need some weapons for the guy but I’m not entirely out on Mayfield being the Saints quarterback. It could make a lot of sense.

One issue I do have with Mayfield though is he can be a little dramatic when things don’t go his way. He’s been a little quieter in recent years but as I mentioned with Rodgers, the Saints have a good locker room environment and I’d hate to see that disrupted.
