10 potential quarterback options that Saints fans would sign off on
8. Teddy Bridgewater
Saints fans love Teddy Bridgewater and apparently wouldn’t mind the team bringing him back to the Big Easy for the 2022 season and even potentially starting for them in Week 1.
Bridgewater, a former first-round pick in 2016, suffered a gruesome leg injury in Minnesota and it felt like a miracle if he’d ever suit up and play football again. While he did return to the sport, he wasn’t the answer for Minnesota anymore and landed with the Jets. He never took a snap with the Jets, however, as the Saints traded for him in 2018.
Bridgewater spent that 2018 season backing up Drew Brees and then chose in the offseason to return to New Orleans despite getting offers to start elsewhere. He ended up starting five games for the Saints in 2019 and went 5-0 while Brees was out.
That offseason, he landed with the Panthers but it didn’t go well so he was traded to the Broncos and it hasn’t gone according to plan this season. He threw for 3,052 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions through 14 starts but was injured in Week 15.
Bridgewater probably isn’t a viable starting option but Saints fans apparently are okay with the idea of him coming back next season.
