10. Matt Corral

The Saints have a lot of pressing needs and they won’t be able to address all of those in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Quarterback is the most important position in the sport and for a time, it didn’t feel realistic for New Orleans to land Ole Miss’ Matt Corral in round one due to him being arguably the best quarterback in a weak draft class.

Well, that could change after Corral sprained his ankle in the first half of the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day. What happened to Corral is precisely why players entering the draft opt-out of bowl games these days. An injury could ruin the rest of a career and these guys are looking to get paid handsomely.

Corral had an incredible season at Ole Miss, tossing for 3,343 yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions while rushing for 614 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. He’d be a great addition to the Saints’ offense and the injury could hurt his draft stock a little bit, potentially opening up the door for NOLA to grab him in the middle of round one.

Corral is surprisingly the only college prospect who was listed in the comment section and while it’d be nice to see New Orleans draft a quarterback, this year’s class isn’t great. They might be better off targeting a wide receiver or offensive lineman in the first round instead.
