The NOLA Saints live to see another week of NFL action, at least meaningful NFL action, as they’re still alive in the NFC playoff picture. Before we dive into that, let’s take a look at five shining stars from the Saints’ win over Carolina.

New Orleans had to beat Carolina this past weekend and then has to win on Sunday against the Falcons in order to have a shot to go to the playoffs. They also have to hope for a 49ers loss, which could be tough considering the Rams have locked up the division and might be resting players.

Be that as it may, the Saints are still in the running to make the playoffs.

Let’s take a look at five shining stars from the 18-10 victory over Carolina.

5. Marcus Davenport

The former first-round pick has completely changed people’s perception of him this year. He went from being labeled as a “bust” to now looking like one of the best players on New Orleans’ roster. The Saints look like geniuses for picking up his fifth-year option, which ensures that Marcus Davenport will be in the Big Easy for at least one more year.

In this game, Davenport had two tackles but had a fumble recovery in the game. He continues to be an absolute force on the defensive side of the ball.
