Rookie quarterback Ian Book is poised to make his NOLA Saints and NFL debut on Monday night against the Miami Dolphins. It’s a tough position for Book to be in but this is his opportunity to show what he can do and that he can be the quarterback of the future for New Orleans.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at three bold predictions now that Book will be the one taking the snaps.

NOLA Saints Bold Prediction No. 1: Book throws his first TD pass

Considering the lackluster offense New Orleans has had in recent weeks, predicting a quarterback to throw a touchdown pass is indeed a bold prediction. Taysom Hill was kept out of the end zone last week, as the Saints won the game with three Brett Maher field goals.

Book hasn’t thrown a touchdown in a game that’s mattered since Dec. 5 where he threw three against Syracuse. Book is going to get back in the touchdown category this week and while the rest of his stats might not be the prettiest, getting his first NFL touchdown on the books (heh) would go a long way to jumpstarting his confidence.

Maybe the touchdown comes in garbage time or maybe it’s early in the game. No matter when it happens, Book finding the end zone is one of my bold predictions for the Saints in Week 16.
