The New Orleans Saints were double-digit underdogs entering their Week 15 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They left Raymond James Stadium with not only a victory but a SHUT OUT victory. Who saw that coming?

With such an impressive win from the black and gold, I didn’t think it was right to do a typical winners and losers article. The Saints faced one of the best teams in the league on Sunday Night Football and shut them out in primetime. No, the offense didn’t play well but this team did something special and I’m going to keep things positive on this Monday morning.

With that said, let’s take a look at 10 shining stars from New Orleans’ 9-0 victory over the Bucs, who will have to wait another week to win their first division title in 14 years. Typing that sentence put a huge smile on my face.

Tied for 9. Marcus Davenport and David Onyemata

I’m putting these two guys together because each of them had a sack on Tom Brady. Every defensive player dreams of sacking Brady and both of these guys were able to do that on the Sunday night showdown.

Davenport has most definitely shed the bust label this year and he continues to show that he was indeed worthy of the fifth-year extension that the Saints wisely picked up last offseason. If I’m the Saints front office, I’m extending Davenport ASAP.

As for Onyemata, he missed the first six games due to getting slapped with a suspension and the team is thrilled to have him back. Just look at how good the defense has been with him on that d-line.
