Round 2: Pick 44 – Kenny Pickett, QB (Pittsburgh)

This second-round pick is the same it was last week, as Heisman Trophy finalist Kenny Pickett fell to the second round once again in this mock. Pickett might not have won the Heisman Trophy but he did things not many Pitt quarterbacks have done, which is win the ACC Championship Game.

Pickett was incredible as a senior for the Panthers, throwing for 4,319 yards, 42 touchdowns, and seven interceptions through 13 games. He also ran for 233 yards and five touchdowns, proving he can do it both through the air and with his legs.

The Saints might decide to re-sign Jameis Winston during the offseason and if they do, they’d have Winston, Taysom Hill, and Ian Book on their roster. I still wouldn’t be opposed to them drafting Pickett in this instance and potentially looking to trade Book since he did garner some trade attention this offseason.

If Pickett manages to fall this deep into the draft, New Orleans would be foolish to pass on the guy. He could be a franchise quarterback and that’s impossible to pass up.
