1. Marcus Williams

Marcus Williams might be No. 1 on this list but he’ll be the most difficult to retain. Williams, a former second-round pick out of Utah in 2017, has been sensational for New Orleans during his five years with the team and it’s time for them to pay him for all he’s been able to accomplish.

Unfortunately, the Saints don’t have a lot of money and Williams isn’t going to come cheap. Spotrac projects his market value this offseason to be somewhere five years for $67 million making somewhere around $13 million annually. As of now, Seattle’s Jamal Adams makes $17 million annually, to put things into perspective.

Despite not having any money, New Orleans continues to get their guys paid and it’s hard to see them letting Williams walk without putting up a fight to keep him.

While the Saints are set to lose other notable names such as Terron Armstead and Tre’Quan Smith, I didn’t include them on here. Armstead is on the wrong side of 30 and it’s doubtful NOLA will be able to afford the four-year $95 million deal Spotrac projects him to receive in free agency.

As for Smith, he just hasn’t been the receiver the Saints hoped he’d be when they spent a third-round pick on him in 2018. They’ll hopefully be able to land one of the explosive receivers entering the 2022 NFL Draft and shore up a position that’s plagued them the past few years.
