3. Jameis Winston

The only offensive player to appear on this list is Jameis Winston, who is entering free agency for the third straight season. He signed a one-year deal with the Saints in 2020 and then signed another one-year deal this year. Unfortunately, Winston was injured back in Week 8 and the Saints’ offense has been in shambles ever since.

With the 2022 quarterback draft class not looking all that impressive, New Orleans might want to just re-sign Winston and lean on him and Taysom Hill for another season. It would be a move that would work out for both sides, as the Saints will need a quarterback who can throw the ball (so, not Hill) and Winston might not be a popular name due to his injury.

Winston was hit and miss this past season. There’d be games where he threw for five touchdowns and other weeks where he just couldn’t get much going. That wasn’t all on him though, as the Saints didn’t exactly give him great weapons to throw to.

A perfect scenario this offseason would be for the Saints to trade for Russell Wilson or another big-name quarterback but if they can’t, re-signing Winston and then drafting a wide receiver in the first round would also suffice.
