New Orleans Saints Shining Stars – No. 4: Nick Vannett

This one might surprise some people considering Nick Vannett hasn’t been a huge game-changer during his time in the Big Easy but when the ball is in his hands, good things happen.

That was proven once again this week, as Vannett wasn’t involved in the game plan a ton but he had three catches for 44 yards. Vannett averaged 14.7 yards per reception and it felt like whenever he had the ball in his hands, he made a significant gain on offense.

Considering the tight end situation throughout the season, it’s been nice to see Vannett make the most of the opportunities given to him. He’s doing what Adam Trautman could not do.

New Orleans Saints Shining Stars – No. 3: Kwon Alexander

I really hope NOLA is able to re-sign Kwon Alexander this offseason because the guy has been absolutely outstanding. Yes, he’s struggled with injuries throughout his career but when he’s on the field, he is so, so good.

In the win over the Jets, Alexander finished with two sacks to go along with four tackles and a QB hit. Alexander is one of those linebackers who is everywhere on the field and that’s why he’s been so important to the Saints during his two seasons with the organization.

Alexander definitely was a shining star in the win over New York.
