Round 3: Pick 102 – Trey McBride, TE (Colorado State)

The Saints have the most glaring issues on the offensive side of the ball and that’s why their first three picks are spent on offense. We’ve added a wide receiver and a quarterback, so next up, naturally, is a tight end.

Trey McBride has been a monster for Colorado State this season, tallying 86 receptions for 1,017 yards and a touchdown. He might have only found the end zone once, but a tight end going for over 1,000 yards in a single season, especially in the Mountain West Conference, is impressive no matter what.

McBride had six games this season where he went for over 100 yards receiving and two games where he had double-digit receptions. This kid can play and he’d be a no-brainer for NOLA in the third round if he’s still available.

The Saints haven’t gotten much out of Adam Trautman through the first two years of his career and while Juwan Johnson and Nick Vannett have shown potential, New Orleans needs a better option at the position. Trey McBride could be that guy.
