1. Michael Thomas

No. 1 and No. 2 could have been flip-flopped but I went with Michael Thomas at No. 1 because — Well — Have you SEEN the Saints’ wide receiver room? It’s not good.

New Orleans only has themselves to blame for their wide receiver situation. They knew the position needed help and they failed to address it in the draft. They expected Thomas to be healthy enough to return this season after an injury-riddled 2020 campaign but that didn’t happen due to some confusion surrounding his surgery.

Fans were eyeing a midseason return for Thomas but he — like Lutz — suffered a setback and announced he wouldn’t be playing this year. It was a devastating blow for a team that desperately needed help at the position but again, they only had themselves to blame.

With Thomas back in the fold for next season (assuming he’s not traded), the Saints will finally have a scary wideout on the gridiron once again. He’s the injured Saint that the fans and team both miss the most this season.

Hopefully, these six players are healthy enough to return and make a positive contribution in the 2022 season.
