The New Orleans Saints have dealt with their fair share of injuries this year. Perhaps if these players had been able to stay healthy, the season would have gone differently for the black and gold. For now, though, we can look at the injured players on the Saints roster and look forward to what they can bring to the table in 2022.

Here are six Saints who are currently sidelined with an injury that will help the team in 2022.

6. Malcolm Roach

Malcolm Roach was yet another example of the Saints excelling in the UDFA department. Fans had big expectations for him this year as a rotational player after a nice rookie year in 2020. While he hasn’t been bad this year, he has been somewhat forgotten.

Roach was placed on IR a few weeks ago after playing in six games this year, making two starts, and tallied seven tackles, one defended pass, one interception, and one QB hit. He didn’t necessarily put up numbers that pop off the page but he’s still someone Saints fans have faith in to make an impact down the road.

NOLA’s defense is going to be what wins them games over the next few years and Roach hopefully will be a big part of that.
