Saints 7-Round Mock Draft: NOLA addresses offensive needs early on
Round 6: Pick 199 – Kolby Harvell-Peel, S (Oklahoma State)
There’s a chance the Saints can’t retain Marcus Williams this offseason. He’s been one of their best players not just on the defensive side of the ball but overall, which means unless they want to slap him with the franchise tag, there’s a chance he’s wearing another uniform next year.
If Williams departs, the Saints need to address the safety position much earlier than round six but in this mock draft, I operated as though Williams remains in the Big Easy. As a result, they can be more lax when it comes to the safety spot.
Kolby Harvell-Peel is a three-year starter at Oklahoma State and the dude is a tackling machine. This year, he’s totaled 54 tackles through 11 games, proving he’s always near the football. He’s also a total ball hawk, notching three interceptions this year and having as many as five picks during his first season in 2019.
To find a player capable of disrupting games in the sixth round of the draft is a downright steal. Harvell-Peel would be a lot of fun to watch in the NOLA defense.
