More Losers

Marshon Lattimore

After a nice start to the season, Marshon Lattimore has had a tough time in recent weeks. The former first-rounder out of Ohio State has really struggled covering the WR1 in each of his latest matchups, getting torched by Stefon Diggs time and time again in week 12.

On the touchdown that Diggs had, he ran a nifty little route and completely burned Lattimore in the process. It hasn’t been a good look for the Saints cornerback and that extension could start to look worse as the weeks go on.

Run Defense

It feels like a lifetime ago that the NOLA run defense was statistically the best in the league as they were ahead of their week 11 loss to Philadelphia. Since then, however, the defense has gotten shredded on the ground, giving up over 240 yards rushing to the Eagles and surrendering over 100 yards rushing to the Bills.

Injuries have played a factor in this, sure, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t list a unit that was once the best in the league as a loser after being embarrassed in back-to-back games.

This was one of those games that you take and throw in the garbage. Nothing went well for the Saints and everything went well for the Bills. It was a gross game and now Sean Payton’s perfect holiday record is ruined, as he was previously 6-0 when his teams played on a holiday. Not anymore.

Next up for New Orleans is another Thursday game, this time against the Dallas Cowboys. Let’s hope that one goes better than this one did.
