The New Orleans Saints had no way of knowing that Jameis Winston would get injured eight games into the 2021 season. Be that as it may, it’s clear as day that they need to get a quarterback for 2022.

This offseason could see some big-name quarterbacks hit either the free-agent market or the trade block and if that happens, New Orleans needs to be prepared to put everything on the table to land any of these names.

Before we dive into that, it is worth noting that the Saints recently extended Taysom Hill. The extension is unique in that Hill will be paid depending on which role he takes on. If he remains in his hybrid role, he’ll get around $40 million. If he becomes the starting quarterback, he could make up to $95 million.

The names on this list range from players surely playing elsewhere in 2022, those who have been rumored to, and even dark-horse options to not be with their current team next year and beyond. Again, keep in mind that these are called longshot options for a reason and it’s that the Saints probably won’t end up being the team to land them, even as much as they need any of these quarterbacks.

With all of that said, let’s dive into the list.
