3 Eagles the Saints have to slow down in Week 11
By Kristen Wong
The New Orleans Saints have been battered by injuries this season, but that’s no excuse for their recent two-game losing streak.
After a thrilling victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, NOLA fell flat against the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans, two very winnable matchups.
In Week 11, they’ll face the Philadelphia Eagles, which will arguably be their easiest opponent in the next few weeks. Suffice to say, they need a win to keep their postseason hopes alive.
The Saints’ offense will be once again without Alvin Kamara, but Mark Ingram has stepped up admirably in the backfield in his absence. Wideout threats Deonte Harris and Marquez Callaway have also been improving of late, and so far, Trevor Siemian has played deservingly of his starter QB spot.
The Saints’ defense, though allowing 27, 27, and 23 points in each of their last three games, remains a formidable squad with veterans Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, and Marshon Lattimore leading the pack.
Against the Eagles, the Saints head into a crucial NFC matchup that could change the playoff picture for both teams. New Orleans currently sit in the sixth seed, but the 4-6 Eagles could be considered in the hunt if they nab a win.
