The New Orleans Saints are hoping to rebound this weekend when they head to Philadelphia for a matchup against the Eagles. Last year, the Saints were cruising with Taysom Hill filling in for Drew Brees but the Eagles handed them a surprising L that ended up costing them a true shot at home-field advantage in the playoffs.

This time around, the teams look different. New Orleans, of course, has Trevor Siemian at quarterback and no viable weapons for him to throw to. Philadelphia still has Jalen Hurts at the helm but Nick Sirianni is the head coach for the Eagles, who are coming off a big win over the Broncos last week.

Let’s check out how Madden sees this game going down.

Madden Simulation – New Orleans Saints 17, Philadelphia Eagles 14

Saints Stats

  • Trevor Siemian – 22-of-27, 275 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
  • Alvin Kamara – 15 carries, 58 yards; 5 rec, 66 yards, TD
  • Mark Ingram – 13 carries, 62 yards
  • Marquez Callaway – 7 rec, 112 yards, TD
  • Deonte Harris – 2 rec, 52 yards
  • Pete Werner – 13 tackles
  • Marcus Davenport – Sack
  • Malcolm Jenkins – INT
  • Paulson Adebo – INT

Eagles Stats

  • Jalen Hurts – 17-of-30, 190 yards, TD, 2 INT; 6 carries, 45 yards
  • Jordan Howard – 12 carries, 72 yards, TD
  • Dallas Goedert – 5 rec, 56 yards
  • DeVonta Smith – 2 rec, 34 yards, TD
  • Josh Sweat – 1.5 sacks
  • Darius Slay – INT

Madden foresees this being a close game but has NOLA narrowly escaping Philadelphia with a win.

I went ahead and included Kamara in the game even with his recent injury and he was limited in practice this week. If he can’t go, we saw Ingram have a big game in Nashville last week so it wouldn’t be shocking to see him explode onto the scene yet again.

The defense does its part in containing Hurts and the Eagles’ run game, which is something they couldn’t do last year when these two teams met up. To be fair, Hurts was making his first NFL start when the Eagles and Saints squared off in 2020. There’s now plenty of film on Hurts that should help NOLA defend him better this time around.

Saints fans don’t really care how the team gets a win at this point. They just want to see this team get back in the win column after a few losses.
