2. Riley Reiff

There’s a solid chance the Saints could lose Terron Armstead in free agency this offseason and if they do, left tackle will be vacant. If that ends up happening, Riley Reiff is someone New Orleans needs to reach out to.

Reiff signed a one-year deal with the Bengals worth just $7.5 million and he’s played well in Cincinnati. Reiff had traditionally been a left tackle during his years in Detroit and Minnesota but the Bengals asked him to play right tackle and he’s been solid on the right side of the line.

This is an even better reason to be eyeing Reiff because it shows he has the versatility to play either tackle spot. Perhaps NOLA shifts Ryan Ramczyk over from right tackle to left tackle if Armstead isn’t retained, but Ramczyk is so good on the right side so keeping him there seems best.

Reiff could be a flexible option at either tackle spot, but the question is — Could the Saints afford him? He’s had a nice year in Cincinnati and should earn himself more than a one-year deal. He’d certainly be cheaper than Armstead, so he needs to be on the team’s radar come March.
