4 positions New Orleans Saints might target before trade deadline
1. Wide Receiver
This wasn’t a surprise whatsoever, was it?
All season long, we’ve heard about the lack of production from the Saints receivers and watched them do very little while on the girdiron. The best receivers on the roster to this point are Marquez Callaway and Deonte Harris, neither of whom would be anything more than a WR3 on most other rosters.
As I mentioned on the tight end slide, this team needs to add weapons, especially now that Winston is done for the year and Siemian, Hill, and Ian Book might be the quarterbacks throwing passes between now and the end of the season.
There are plenty of names to monitor between now and the deadline including James Washington of the Steelers, Brandon Aiyuk of the 49ers, Odell Beckham of the Browns, Allen Robinson of the Bears, and Jamison Crowder of the Jets.
The Saints can’t continue to roll with Harris and Callaway as their main wide receiver targets, especially if Michael Thomas isn’t going to return to the lineup anytime soon. They need to be looking to add a receiver, even if it won’t come cheap.
The trade deadline is fast approaching and these are four positions that the Saints should be looking to fill before the deadline arrives.
