The New Orleans Saints took down the defending champs in the Superdome on Sunday and now they’ll welcome in another NFC South opponent in the Atlanta Falcons.

I know it’s corny but the saying of “throw out the records when these teams meet up” is fitting for the Saints/Falcons matchups. Even though Atlanta has been hot garbage the past few seasons, they always bring it against New Orleans and this weekend won’t be any different.

Bith teams are coming off NFC South matchups of their own with the Saints knocking off the Buccaneers to move to 5-2 while the Falcons fell to the Panthers and are now 3-4 on the year.

Saints vs Falcons Odds Week 9

New Orleans is favored by 6.0 points, per WynnBET with a moneyline grab of -270 while the Falcons’ moneyline is +230. The over/under is set at 41.5 points.

Saints vs Falcons Prediction Week 9

The Saints have had Atlanta’s number in recent years, winning six of their last seven matchups against the Dirty Birds. Some of those games have been closer than others but the good guys have prevailed more often than not.

With Jameis Winston injured, it’ll be Trevor Siemian stepping in to quarterback the Saints. He did a decent enough job on Sunday so if he and the offense can get at least two or three touchdowns, the defense should be able to limit the Falcons offense.

The defense has looked legitimate this season and came through in the clutch in the final minutes of the victory over Tampa Bay. They’ll need to continue that hunger as the offense could be in for some tough outings without their starting quarterback.

Let’s go with a final score of 24-17, Saints. Falcons don’t cover with this score prediction.
